Xavier Garay

Xavier Garay is a junior in Mechanical Engineering at Rutgers University. He is currently a New Jersey Army National Guardsman and participating in his school's Army ROTC program where he volunteers for several extracurriculars including SOCOM Ignited to develop machine learning algorithms for collecting and filtering real time information to ensure mission success in future operations. He has been awarded several honors for his performance as a soldier and as a scholar including two Army achievement medals for exemplary service and leadership throughout his initial entry training. Xavier has also participated in a research project through Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP), looking to learn more about the morphological structure of neurons gathered from mice samples. He hopes to develop technologies in prosthetics and energy to have a life changing impact on as many people as possible and leave the world a better place than when he found it.
