Vamsikrishna Vaidyula

Vamsikrishna Vaidyula is a junior at Bridgewater-Raritan High School. As the founder and president of his school’s Students Together Assisting Refugees (STAR) club, he raises awareness among his peers on issues relating to migrant resettlement, detention, and displacement. The club is currently working on its Newark Refugee Resource Project, an initiative that aims to gather and publish resources related to education and healthcare that refugees in Newark can access. In addition to STAR, Vamsikrishna participated in the 2022-2023 Youth Leadership Program, exploring issues in Somerset County and building personal development skills through interactive programming. As an aspiring physician, he hopes to provide accessible, quality healthcare to underrepresented communities across New Jersey. In the meantime, he can be found volunteering at healthcare centers, teaching refugees English, and providing financial literacy instruction to newly resettled migrants.
