Sophie Hatcher

Sophie Hatcher works as a Staff Engineer at Stryker in Mahwah, New Jersey, where she works on the design and development of knee replacement implants in the Joint Replacement division of the company. She enjoys working closely with surgeons and other engineers to design the next generation of orthopedic devices to help improve patient lives. As the co-lead for Recruitment and Outreach for Stryker's Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Employee Resource Group, she also participates in and leads many outreach events largely focused on encouraging students of all ages to consider STEM careers. Previously, Sophie obtained her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Virginia Tech. Sophie is passionate about education, healthcare, preserving the environment, and improving the lives of others.
