Sofia Colella

Sofia Colella is a senior at the Hunterdon County Biomedical Sciences Academy. She is co-President of The Brain Bee Club, which focuses on teaching high school students neuroscience to prepare them for the Princeton University Brain Bee Competition. She is President of National English Honor Society. Sofia is involved in her school’s National, Social Studies, Spanish, Science, and Technical Honor Societies and HOSA, where she made it to the state competition freshman year in an EMT Team Event. She is also very proud to have recently earned her New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. Outside of school, Sofia has been an involved member of Girl Scouts for the last twelve years, earning a Bronze Award. She helps teach fourth and fifth graders CCD at her local church. She has also attended the BOLD Summer Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute, furthering her knowledge in oncology research, treatment, and careers. In the future, Sofia hopes to major in Neuroscience on a Pre-Med track and eventually become a pediatric neurologist to help kids like her younger sister, Julia, suffering from neurological conditions.
