Sarah Zampino is a senior in the Academy of Medical Sciences at Salem County Vocational Technical High School. She is also attending Salem Community College and will be graduating with an Associate in Science degree in health sciences. She is a member of Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). Sarah conducted an experiment, “Left Paw or Right Paw,” where she wanted to analyze if cats favored the use of a dominant paw similarly to humans utilizing a dominant appendage in various tasks. Through this project, Sarah conducted background research, developed an experimental design, implemented this design, collected extensive data, and then completed detailed analyses. In the future, Sarah hopes to become a forensic chemist to contribute to eliminating racial profiling in the criminal justice system.
