2027 Scholar
Rhea Menon is a senior in the Academy of Biotechnology at Morris County School of Technology. Her STEM interests lie at the intersection of cellular and molecular biology and medicine. At the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Rhea researched DNA damage repair mechanisms relevant to cancer therapeutics. She also interned at Rowan University, where she developed and validated biochemical assays to evaluate changes in intervertebral discs treated with an injectable hydrogel, and has published a systematic review examining immunotherapies for Alzheimer’s disease. Rhea is also a Rutgers Waksman Scholar and Global Youth Institute Borlaug Scholar. Outside of research, she is a nationally registered EMT, varsity soccer player, lead choreographer for her school’s Multicultural Club, and trained Indian classical dancer. She hopes to become a physician-scientist.
