Prerna Shankar

Prerna Shanka is a junior attending North Hunterdon High School. She is part of the school's Biomedical Sciences Academy, a competitive vocational program where she studies in-depth topics related to the fields of medicine and health sciences. Prerna is the President and Founder of the Brain Bee Club at North Hunterdon. In addition, she is a highly active member and leader of many other clubs and organizations at her school, including Model UN, Mock Trial, Youth and Government, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and Chess Club. She is also an active member of the NJ Science League. Prerna completed the WISE program at Rutgers University in the summer of 2020 and her analysis of two DNA sequences is to be published in GenBank. Prerna is an active volunteer in her community; she volunteers at the Hunterdon Medical Center in its genetics department. In addition, she also volunteers her time and skills to help causes like autism, aphasia, and more. Prerna aims to pursue a career in neuroscience in the future.
