Peter Kutuzov

Peter Kutuzov is a third-year biochemistry major student in the Honors College at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). In high school, he studied neuroblastoma cell lines in a stem cell laboratory and worked in a research team to aid in the development of an oral vaccine for the West Nile virus. He is currently studying peripheral nerve regeneration in dorsal root ganglia to improve the prognosis of peripheral nerve injuries (PNIs). As a certified Phlebotomy, EKG, and Emergency Medical Technician, he works as an ER technician at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) where he assists with different clinical studies. He also interns at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) where he performs gait analysis on patients with movement dysfunction mechanisms. On campus, he is involved in NJIT’s First Aid Squad and the North American Disease Intervention (NADI) organization where he helps run health screening events and provide patient care to the Newark community. He is the Co-founder of the Russian Heritage Foundation for American Children and Youth Inc. where he helps prepare free educational events and classes while working with families from underprivileged and underserved segments of the community. He aspires to be a surgeon running his own clinical studies.
