Omolola Falana
Omolola Falana is a junior at Union County Magnet High School. She has researched and presented scientific and policy recommendations to local leaders and experts on critical global challenges at Rutgers University being named a Borlaug Scholar. Omolola is actively involved in her school’s community maintaining leadership within her school’s Future Farmers of America Chapter and Newspaper Club. As a result she has participated in various competitions including the FFA State Land Judging & Homesite Competition in which her team placed within the top four. Outside of school, Omolola is involved in a PenPal Program with the non-profit Keys 2 Success in which she exchanges letters with K-8th grade piano players from Newark. She is also involved with the non-profit New Jersey Reads, as an ambassador, in which its main purpose is to encourage reading among students through a reading competition, with the non-profit recently partnering with Plainfield and other school districts to expand outside her school. In her free time she enjoys script-writing, starring in plays and creating dances with her youth dance group. With a passion for aircrafts, Omolola inspires to become an aerospace engineer.
