Nathaniel Vinoya

Nathaniel Vinoya is a freshman at Rutgers University–New Brunswick and a graduate of West Orange High School. Throughout high school, he was involved in the band (as a percussionist and oboist), Science Olympiad, Math and Science League, various national honors societies, and his local Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. As a part of West Orange High School's AFJROTC program, he helped in establishing its Model Rocketry program, which is designed to use knowledge of aerospace science and STEM to build launchable model rockets. He has also been involved in the school’s Institute of Math and Sciences (IMS), a unique small learning community designed to provide students with immersive experience and learning opportunities within STEM education. Nathaniel is studying mechanical engineering at Rutgers. He is a college Air Force ROTC cadet and he hopes to be able to commission in the Air Force as a Developmental Engineer upon graduating.
