Meer Patel

Meer Patel is a senior at John P. Stevens High School. He has participated in competitive robotics for eight years and currently serves as captain of his FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team and an administrative president within his school’s FIRST Robotics Competition program. Through robotics, Meer has developed interests in computer science, applied mathematics, optimization, and engineering. He has also conducted independent quantitative research on financial markets, using historical futures and options data to test rule-based trading models and investigate price behavior, volatility, and statistical relationships. Meer is particularly interested in the intersection of mathematics and computer science and hopes to apply these fields to quantitative finance, technology, and entrepreneurship. He also enjoys mentoring younger students and exploring new problems through programming and engineering.
