Lukas Liakhovitch

2025 Scholar

Lukas Liakhovitch is a senior at Pope John XXIII Regional High School. He is the founder, captain, and Dean’s List semi-finalist of FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team Ultraviolet. He created the team in 2023 with the goal of promoting STEM and supporting youth development in his local community. Under his leadership, in its first year, his team qualified for State’s Championship and held a third-place state-wide record. Lukas is a member of National Honor Society, as well as Science, Math, French, English and History NHSs. He is an executive of the school Rocketry Club, participant of the 2024 M3 Math Modeling Competition, Academic Team member, AP Scholar, and First Chair alto saxophone in the school Jazz Band. This summer, Lukas attended the New Jersey Governor's School in the Sciences where he worked on archeological research involving clay origins in Southern Ecuador. Lukas has a passion for science and engineering, specifically Mechanical and Mechatronics with applications in robotics and automation. He also enjoys traveling with his family, and outdoor adventures such as rock climbing and hiking through National Parks.
