Kareena Shah
Kareena Shah is a senior at Pascack Valley High School and has a passion for leveraging emerging technologies to spur social change. As a Governor’s School of New Jersey Program in Engineering & Technology 2022 Scholar, she had the opportunity to conduct research that sought to improve pre-existing computer vision algorithms, thus unlocking more accessible and robust drone delivery systems. Additionally, as a Dean’s List Semifinalist of her school’s FIRST Robotics Competition Team, she has learned crucial engineering concepts and has developed problem-solving skills, all while leading her team members to build successful apparatuses for their robot. Outside of school, Kareena strives to bring about an atmosphere of equity, inclusivity, and diversity within her local community through social advocacy and cultural events as a leader in her school’s Human Rights League. Her work has led her to receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award in Gold. Kareena is an avid dancer and enjoys spending her free time outdoors by going on hikes, biking, and kayaking as well as exploring the unknown.
