Jiya Mody

Jiya Mody is a junior in the Academy for Health and Medical Sciences at Somerset County Vocational and Technical High School. She recently placed fourth in HOSA Bowl at the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) International Leadership Conference. In 2019, she founded Youth in Emergency Medicine, a national nonprofit that works to educate and provide opportunities to youth interested in medicine. For the past two years, she has served as class president at her high school, raising over $3,000 for her class. She is also the Director of Brain Bee at the International Youth Neuroscience Association (IYNA), where she works to make sure that each student around the world has access to preparatory resources regardless of socioeconomic status. This past summer, she worked as a medical receptionist, simultaneously gaining clinical hours and valuable experience. Jiya plans to become a cardiologist one day and work to help the underserved.
