Ishani Bakshi

2026 Scholar

Ishani Bakshi is a senior at the Edison High School STEM Academy. She has published research on bioenergy and biodigesters in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health and studied the link between air pollution and cognitive decline at Rutgers’ CARE Lab, developing wearable health-monitoring devices. As part of a Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam, she helped secure a $7,500 grant to design sustainable solutions for river and swamp pollution. Ishani also serves on the SafeToddles Medical Advisory Committee, where she has published in Acta Ophthalmologica and presented internationally. She founded the New Jersey Youth Food Council and co-founded the Women’s Alliance in STEM and Humanities.
