Harsimran Kaur

Harsimran Kaur is a junior at Old Bridge High School. Her STEM interests include engineering and biomedical engineering. She works part-time at her father’s repair shop, assisting with diagnostics and basic repairs, and has used her HTML/CSS and design skills to create a website highlighting women’s careers in STEM. Drawing on her experience managing a chronic illness, Harsimran is particularly interested in biomedical engineering and hopes to design medical devices that help others facing similar challenges. She was also selected for the New York Academy of Sciences Junior Academy. Beyond STEM, Harsimran worked with the Sikh Youth Alliance to develop a Sikh curriculum and volunteers as a Punjabi school teacher, providing live translation from Punjabi to English. She has also received regional and international recognition for Kirtan and teaches it to others.
