Evelyn Riera

Evelyn Riera is a sophomore at José Martí STEM Academy. She has pursued independent research since the age of eight and has presented projects at the Hudson County STEM Showcase, including a project that earned second place in 2025. Evelyn has also mentored another student on a research poster that earned first place at the showcase. She participates in HOSA and the Scientific Research Honor Society and has completed programs through Accomplished and NYU. Evelyn has shadowed a cosmetic surgeon and neonatal specialist, gaining exposure to patient consultations, medical procedures, and newborn care. These experiences have contributed to her interest in becoming a dermatologist. Outside of academics, Evelyn enjoys decorating and finding creative DIY ways to personalize everyday objects.
