Emily Hickey

Emily Hickey is a junior at Summit High School. In her freshman year, she won second place in the Behavioral Science category for her submission titled “The Effect of Pandemic-Induced Screen Time Increases on K-12 Student Performance” in the North Jersey Regional Science Fair. As a sophomore, Emily won third place in the Statistics category for her work titled “Mathematical Model for Predicting SAT Scores” in the Terra North Jersey Science Fair. Above all, Emily believes in collaboration and teamwork. She is a junior member of the Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, helping to provide free life-saving care to members of her community. Outside of her STEM pursuits, Emily is a three sport varsity athlete, a USLA-certified ocean lifeguard on the Spring Lake Beach Patrol, and a counselor for Summit’s overnight trip for new middle school students. Emily aspires to be a physician or work in the development of pharmaceutical medications. In her free time, she enjoys reading and eating ice cream.
