2027 Scholar
Danny Paik is a senior at the Academy for the Advancement of Science and Technology at Bergen County Academies. His interests in bioinformatics have led him to conduct research in both mathematics and cell biology. Danny’s independent research explores approaches to improving Convection Enhanced Delivery for glioblastoma through an agarose gel phantom, investigation of the CXCR4 receptor, and a machine learning model designed to predict tumor boundaries. As a research scholar in the Dalerba Lab, he also helped investigate the vulnerability of CDX2-deficient colon cancer to chemotherapy. Danny developed Strive, a rehabilitation app that received recognition through the Congressional App Challenge, and co-founded TechSprouts, a nonprofit providing STEM education to underserved students.
