Bryan Oko

2026 Scholar

Bryan Oko is a senior at the Newark School of Data Science. He completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) MITES Semester, where he wrote a research proposal on gene splicing variants related to congenital heart defects and published an article on climate intervention. His STEM interests span engineering, astrophysics, and environmental science. Bryan is also deeply committed to mentorship and community impact, serving as a Mentor Newark volunteer, BigFuture Ambassador, and former president of SkillsUSA. He has introduced physics concepts to young children by teaching with Legos and currently works as an “Explorer” at the Newark Museum of Art, where he designs teen events and leads tours.
