Ali Hagag
2025 Scholar
Ali Hagag is a senior at Roxbury High School. He has been a volunteer junior EMT on an ambulance squad, gaining hands-on experience in emergency medical services. He was selected for the NYU High School Bioethics Spring Research Internship, where he conducted research on critical issues in modern medicine, such as the ethicality of using MAID as a possible treatment for unsavable cases and whether animal organ harvesting using chimeras would be a viable option for an organ transplant. His passions primarily lie within the healthcare field and public health, along with an interest in biomedical engineering. At Roxbury High School, Ali is the Student Body President and cofounded the school's Inclusivity Committee, demonstrating strong leadership skills. Within the committee, a summit was created, inviting over ten schools across New Jersey to learn about and discuss ways to combat racism in schools. Through these efforts, Ali hopes to become a physician and advocate for equitable access to medical resources for underrepresented groups and minorities.
