Alfardi Nuruzzaman

Alfardi Nuruzzaman is a senior at the Bergen County Academies in the Science major. He is conducting research in cancer biology at Hackensack Meridian Health's Center for Discovery and Innovation, studying the effects of specific pathways on cell signaling information in colorectal cancer tumors. Additionally, he conducts clinical research in immunology and worked on one of the first clinical trials for collecting and analyzing salivary biomarkers to PFAPA, a rare disease. He volunteers with several organizations (i.e. the Sarcoma Alliance), spreading awareness for rare types of cancer through social media and fundraising events on behalf of the initiatives. He supports his local hospitals, volunteering to improve patient experience. He aspires to be a physician-scientist, seeing patients as an oncologist and performing clinical research.
