Alex Weng

Alex Weng is a senior at Chatham High School. He is interested in a variety of STEM subjects including biology, engineering, computer science, and physics, and volunteers at the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge. This passion for STEM and environmental protection has helped him co-develop a model filtration system that utilizes mollusks to clean toxic bodies of water. The sustainable design has the potential to help purify some of New Jersey's polluted rivers and lakes. Alex is also an officer of his school’s Academic Team, and he enjoys playing chess, soccer, and road cycling in his free time. In the future, he hopes to pursue a career in engineering physics.
