Akhil Vemuri

Akhil Vemuri is a senior at John P. Stevens High School in Edison with the goal of pursuing a career in Aerospace Engineering. He holds the position of Flight Sergeant, leading a group of over 20 cadets in his Civil Air Patrol Squadron. He has participated in national aerospace competitions including TARC national rocketry contest and placing 16th in the StellarXplorers satellite design competition. Outside of STEM, Akhil has volunteered with his local Red Cross Chapter and at CodeNinjas, teaching the basics of coding to young children. He also enjoys theater and is serving as Set Head and Construction Head of his school’s theater company. Other hobbies include watching netflix and listening to music.
