Aarush Batra

Aarush Batra is a senior at Edison Academy Magnet School. As a student researcher in the Garcia Summer Research Program, he investigated phosphorus-based flame-retardant coatings, analyzing heat transfer to help develop solutions that delay wildfire ignition. With interests in materials science and mechanical engineering, Aarush plans to pursue a career in research and hardware development focused on environmental and structural challenges. Outside of the lab, he serves as captain of his school’s varsity soccer team and is an avid Seattle Seahawks fan.
