Stryker Gives Scholars Tour of Joint Replacement Division

Scholars look at a replacement knee during a tour of the Stryker manufacturing floor.

On March 14, 2024, the Governor’s STEM Scholars toured Stryker Corporation in Mahwah, NJ. Organized and led by R&D Council Board Member Dan Rosenthal, the Scholars got a great view of the medical device industry in New Jersey. 


A Scholar looks at how 3D printing is used to develop joint replacement parts.

Scholars took a tour of the Advanced Technology Test Labs, Mako Surgical Robotics, the 3D Printing and Manufacturing Cells and the Bioskills and Cadaver Lab. After a networking lunch with Stryker staff members, Scholars met with Employee Resource Group representatives, learning about the Stryker Emerging Professionals, Styker’s African Ancestry Network, Women in Science and Engineering, and Hispanic/Latino Network Resource Groups.
