Sanika Karode

Sanika Karode is a junior at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology. She participated in National Ocean Sciences Bowl, winning 1st place in her state alongside her team. Sanika has interned with Myntor, where she helped improve test prep software through user research interviews. She has volunteered with a STEM camp, helping young kids create STEM-related projects and increase their passion for STEM. She has attended The College of New Jersey's BME program learning about various sectors of the major such as imaging, blood testing, neurological devices, and prosthetics. On her own time, Sanika creates a podcast on YouTube called the Climate Crisis where she talks about the environment to spread awareness about the climate problem. Sanika also makes bracelets and sells them in craft fairs, donating the profit to organizations that help the environment. She enjoys reading and playing tennis and is on her school's varsity team. In the future, Sanika hopes to design prosthetics or create artificial organs to combine her passions for engineering and biology.
