Razil Fernandes

Razil Fernandes is a senior at Dwight-Englewood School. She is President of Science Olympiad and Editor-in-Chief of her school newspaper. She is also Secretary of Student Government. Razil has been involved with research on the 3D bioprinting of hydrogels for use in organ transplants. She has also done research in Columbia University's Journal in Science, Technology, Ethics, and Policy (JSTEP) Fellowship, where she worked to propose reforms to combat discrimination in the organ transplant system. Razil recently started volunteering at the Bergen New Bridge Hospital in the Emergency Department and Long-Term Care Unit. She is currently working with a non-profit to create resources for underresourced sites. Razil hopes to go into the medical field as a career.
