Raifah Kader is a sophomore at Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School. After spending her summer attending Eco Circle International (ECI), she is working on a website and fundraiser to educate people about ocean acidification and gain the necessary funds to plant trees around the neighborhood. To support her cause, Raifah plans to research ocean acidification in the future. During that summer, she was a part of Scientific Enrichment Month at Columbia University Medical Center, where she became familiar with different kinds of cancer, ways to prevent and identify it, and how to help those diagnosed with it. At school, Raifah is a member of the Key Club, where she actively participates in volunteer opportunities, and is the Activities Coordinator for the Muslim Students Association. Outside of academics, she is a part of her school's fencing team and competes against other districts. She has plans to dedicate herself to science, where her interest mainly lies in pharmaceuticals.
