Nidhi Mandrekar

Nidhi Mandrekar is a sophomore at Cherokee High School. She is the co-founder and captain of a FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics team, Outer Galaxy, and has advanced to NJ State Championship for two consecutive years. Throughout the competitions, the team earned the Think, Connect, Inspire, and Innovate Awards. Nidhi is also a member of her school’s FIRST Robotics Competition team, Charge Robotics 2722, as a part of the Design and Fabrication team. She likes to share her passion for robotics and runs various STEM enrichment programs and workshops primarily focused on empowering girls to participate in STEM. Beyond robotics, she competes in DECA and is a Vice President of Career Development at her school. Within DECA, she has made it to the New Jersey State level. As a career, she wants to pursue computer science and eventually become an Aerospace engineer and be able to design and build rovers that can help advance our technology and surpass boundaries. In her downtime, she enjoys playing tennis, singing, and reading.
