Myra Almeida

Myra Almeida is a junior at Mountain Lakes High School. She participated in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Summer Research Internship where she drug interactions with COVID variants. Her online molecular models and research aim to be published into a paper in the Journal of Molecular Graphics, evaluating SARS CoV-2 main protease variants for drug efficacy and resistance. Myra has taken a Biomedical Engineering course at Stanford University, a Social Psychology course at Columbia University, and studied cancer biology at Brown University. Myra also championed women in STEM at the American Association of University Women's Tech Trek Camp, excelling in Forensics. She has been an avid MathCounts Club member since fourth grade. Myra has aspirations to contribute profoundly to pharmaceutical research and biomedical engineering, furthering human understanding and STEM innovation.
