Misha Patel

Misha Patel is a senior at Edison Academy Magnet School and a part of the mechanical engineering cohort. This past summer, she conducted biomedical engineering research studying the efficacy of hydrogels in simulated osteoporotic bone environments. As president of her local Technology Student Association chapter, Misha has been able to further explore the biomedical and health sciences while leading younger students to engage in STEM. She is passionate about debate and political activism, and works to grow high school participation in civic engagement through Junior State of America, an organization which she leads on a national level. Outside of STEM, Misha is a long-time soccer player and volunteers to enable access to education for under-resourced populations globally. In the future, Misha aspires to continue translating her passions to her community and beyond.
