Miles Roper

Miles Roper is a senior at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. He has enrolled in the Harvard Pre-College Program studying Fundamentals of Particle Physics and interned with the mMOD Group at Rutgers University to study the mechanical failures of aluminum alloys. He is a varsity athlete for cross-country, winter track, and spring track, helping his cross country team qualify for Nike XC Regionals in 2018 and his winter track team win the Group III Relay State Championship in the 2018-2019 season. As a Model United Nations Youth Secretariat, he organizes fundraising efforts for his chapter and tutors fellow delegates about rhetorical strategy. He has been featured in local newspapers and podcasts for raising awareness about police brutality, tutors K-8 students on math, chemistry, and physics, and has helped raise over $600 to restore the Frazier House. He is interested in exploring the applications of materials science and engineering within transportation.
