Lukas Harmeyer

Lukas Harmeyer is currently a junior at the Bergen County Academies. As a part of his school's cell biology research program, he conducts research with the goal of making glioblastoma brain tumors less resistant to treatment by blocking the hemichannel connections between tumor microtubes. He is also a two-sport athlete and a member of the student council. Outside of school, he volunteers at a STEM summer camp for elementary and middle school students. Within the field of STEM, he is particularly interested in biomedical and chemical engineering and hopes to pursue one of these areas in the future.
