Keira Lee

Keira Lee is a junior at Mountain Lakes High School. She is a magna cum laude and a cum laude recipient in the National Latin Examination. Keira co-founded Mountain Lakes Snacks, a grassroots organization that provides first responders with non-perishable snacks. She is passionate about helping people in need. Keira is a 3rd-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and applies her knowledge by instructing children and adults in self-defense. She is also a food allergy advocate and actively participates in the Teal Pumpkin Project, using 3D printing to create custom wearable alerts for food allergies. Her NSF-funded research internship involved designing medical alerts for the visually impaired. Keira’s current research involves working with Morris County hospitals and Mountain Lakes maker space in developing technology that will increase accessibility to vital information during emergency and trauma situations. Her goal for the future is to use technology to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities or in conditions that limit communication.
