Karla Esquilín-Lebrón, Ph.D.

Research Advisor

Karla Esquilín-Lebrón, Ph.D. is a Microbiology teaching instructor in the Biochemistry and Microbiology Department at Rutgers-New Brunswick. Karla is passionate about science communication, teaching and mentoring students. Karla serves as the outreach director of the Rutgers SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Latinos Chicanos and Native Americans in Science) student chapter, and as a STEAM100X35 ambassador. Karla is originally from Puerto Rico where she completed her bachelor's degree at the University of Puerto Rico at Humacao. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed her postdoctoral work at Rutgers-New Brunswick.
