Justine Prophete

Justine Prophete is a senior at Holmdel High School. She is the past president of her school's Amnesty International chapter, the current president of the Future Physicians of America club, a National Honor Society peer tutor, and a four-year varsity track and field athlete. As a Waksman Student Scholar, she has performed bioinformatic analyses on Duckweed DNA sequences. She isolated and sequenced her own clone, publishing “The Isolation of Peroxisomal membrane protein PMP22 and Protein translation factor SUI1 isogeny from Landoltia Punctata” for the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). She has also collected data and constructed an abstract for the Weill Cornell Medical Center. Justine is an avid member of her region's Red Cross chapter, previously working as a Youth Blood Services Donor Ambassador and currently the Vice President of the Youth Council. She is passionate about biomedical research and plans to pursue it in the future.
