Isabela Simpson

Isabela Simpson is a second-year chemical engineering student at Stevens Institute of Technology. A member of multiple organizations, including the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF), she works to support minorities in STEM. Currently conducting research in an environmental lab, Isabela is working on a project to help optimize processes for extracting oil from algae. Apart from research, Isabela loves to travel and recently studied abroad in Costa Rica, taking the opportunity to improve her Spanish and study sustainability and it's impacts. Isabela is very passionate about the environment, and aspires to help work towards more sustainable energy and manufacturing methods in the future.
