Hazel Bonilla

Hazel Bonilla is a junior at Jose Marti STEM Academy. She has conducted research on Alzheimer's disease, using methods of lithium therapy on planaria in an effort to slow the disease's progression. Hazel has participated in the Partners in Science program at Liberty Science Center. She is treasurer of the Scientific Research Club at her high school. Outside of research, Hazel is interested in technology and volunteers to help out as a media team member. She plans to go to medical school and eventually become a dermatologist.
