Cristina Altamirano

Cristina Altamirano ia a senior at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) pursuing a Bachelor's of Science in Biochemistry with an American Chemical Society (ACS) Certification. Christina was a 20202 Novo Nordisk Research Scholarship recipient. Since 2021, she has participated in the Novo Nordisk Research Mentorship Program, and presented her research at the ACS Middle Atlantic Regional Meeting (MARM) 2022 Conference. Through her participation as a National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM Undergraduate Retention Graduation and Engagement (SURGE) research fellow for the 2022-2023 academic year, her research was presented at at the Fall 2023 ACS San Francisco National Conference and published in the ACS Journal of Chemical Education. Cristina is the President of the FDU Student Chapter of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). At FDU, she is a Support Squad Leader for the Honors Program, which is designed to welcome incoming freshman. Following graduation this spring, Christina plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry.
