Alexander Kang

Alexander Kang is a senior at Cherry Hill High School East. He has conducted research at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine investigating conformational selection in the enzyme phenylalanine hydroxylase and rescuing patient mutations causing phenylketonuria. His main STEM interests lie in biology and the life sciences. In addition to serving as president of his school’s Biological Research Apparatus Club and Biology Club, Alex works to provide comfort and therapy in his community through his organization Patch heART Works. Outside of clubs and research, Alex is also interested in business administration and has received recognition as a DECA International Finalist and USABO Honorable Mention Recipient. He enjoys snowboarding and performing the clarinet. In the future, Alex strives to be a cardiologist and entrepreneur in healthcare management.
